Question:

What is the Biggest Factor when Optimizing my site for Google?

Answer:

Google optimization is based mainly on off-page factors. The factor that largely determines your rankings is the anchor text of inbound links to your site. One in particular. DMOZ. If you can get your keywords in the inbound anchor text of your listing in DMOZ your almost assured an excellent ranking in google. The DMOZ directory propagates to the Google directory.

The anchor text from governing authority sites are also very important. Remember for google - It's not the shear number of links, it's the right type of links. The main thing to remember when working with anchor text is to vary it often. Google will penalize your site if they feel you're receiving links unnaturally. So keep this in mind when starting out your link campaigns.
